Student Clubs

We know club participation is beneficial for students social-emotional well-being and growth.

DC PSO is committed to helping students and families engage in existing clubs and enrichment programs and are actively seeking out new opportunities to meet student needs.

Information for 2023-2024 school year will be available in mid-August.

Chess ClubGrades 2-5

Can expand grades depending on adult volunteers

Students learn and practice chess skills with their friends. Adult coaches support teaching chess.

Optional vocal program. Choir performs at the Spring Concert and other events as scheduled throughout the year.

DC LeadersGrades 4-5

Students promote positivity, good character, and kindness!  They serve the school and community by hosting events that align with our monthly Character Counts activities and No Place for Hate, support the Holiday Helpers program for families in need, and participate in the Safety Team, Beautification Team, and Positivity Team on campus!

First Lego League ExploreGrades 1-3

Students use legos, block-based programming, and an ipad-activated wedo motor to build a team project.  Older teams can participate in a Westview expo and Legoland expo

Deer Canyon RoboticsGrades 4-5
Students work in parent-coached teams and participate in FIRST Lego League Challenge. New students will have a summer coding lesson.

Math ClubGrades 3-5

Students explore math problem-solving skills. Several team and individual competitions throughout the year. Annual awards celebration. Family participation is required

Mileage Running ClubGrades 1-5

Students run during recess and at lunch to earn incentives. The minimum level of participation is one half mile (2 laps) daily at the beginning of morning recess for grades 2-5 and one quarter mile (1 lap) for 1st grade.
